Update on Sodlyne

Sodlyne came to our clinic last year.  She was in a mess.  Her stomach was very swollen(see picture below).  We kept her here for a few days and until her family could get prepared to go into Port to take her to another hospital.  We sent her to a doctor who transported her directly to a hospital.  This unnamed hospital refused to tell the family for several months what was wrong.  They never told them what test they were doing or what meds she was taking.  If the family asked they got mad.  RHFH paid someone to stay in the hospital with her as her dad was not allowed and her mom was 9 months pregnant.  After about 4 months the hospital sent her home.  They told the family they had started treating her for TB and then stopped and that she had a incurable liver problem.  They came back to RHFH and asks us to keep her at the RC so that she might have a chance to live as long as possible.  We begun treating her with several different options of meds.  Her treatment will take 1 year to complete all the required meds.  But God lead us along the way to help her get the right meds.  She is going to live.  She is well.  By the Grace of God.

Psalm 105:4-6 (The Message)

    Hallelujah! Thank God! Pray to him by name!
      Tell everyone you meet what he has done!
   Sing him songs, belt out hymns,
      translate his wonders into music!
   Honor his holy name with Hallelujahs,
      you who seek God. Live a happy life!
   Keep your eyes open for God, watch for his works;
      be alert for signs of his presence.
   Remember the world of wonders he has made,
      his miracles, and the verdicts he’s rendered—
         O seed of Abraham, his servant,
         O child of Jacob, his chosen

    Wow! It’s heart wrenching to read your posts sometimes but there is always a “twist”. It’s so good to know that the “twist” is not our own power or anything we can do but the “twist” is God Himself Who shows up when all hope is gone. With our children still in Haiti, it’s a blessingto read how God uses you and the clinic there for helping His people.
